Hello! We are the Hazletts, Alex and Joey. Since you’re here, you probably want to know more about us and our journey.
We started out as coworkers many years ago in a small IT company. Joey was the primary IT staff member and Alex was hired on as the company’s staff writer. At first, Alex thought Joey was that weird IT guy, and didn’t want anything to do with him. Joey was just that weird IT guy who was oblivious to the world, going about his own business. Eventually we found that we preferred each others’ company, and so we got hitched! You can read more about our past on our wedding site.
This blog came about after Joey decided he wanted something else. We’ve been living near our former place of employment, even while both getting jobs much further from our home. We’re commuting daily, and just surviving in Southern California. It is time for a change to something new and exciting, and so an initial goal was hatched. Our goal is to be living in Southern Utah by our wedding anniversary in the year 2020. That used to be a very far off future, but it’s coming up quite quickly now, as this is being written in 2016.
The purpose of this blog is for us to document our progress toward achieving our goal. Feel free to follow along as we embark on our new adventure!
